When you're here, you're not alone.

NAPAMA is a not-for-profit organization of agents, managers, self-represented artists, presenters, producers, and other performing arts professionals. We provide education, professional development, mentorship, community and more.

Facilitating Better Business in live performing arts

What WE Do

We are here to provide on-the-ground information, access to leading innovators, and an opportunity to build relationships with people on all sides of the industry. NAPAMA’s core values of equity, diversity, inclusion, professionalism, integrity, and ethics are upheld through the best practices we’ve established for the field.

We share them through webinars, town halls, retreats, our presence at conferences and celebrate a commitment to these values through our annual awards. You will find a level of shared knowledge and community here that is apart from any other organization.

WHO WE ARE

NAPAMA is led by a volunteer board of directors, supported by our members on committees. We are all active professionals in the touring of the performing arts. This means the information we share with you is at the industry’s leading edge.

Our leadership reflects the field and works alongside the voices of those we advocate for. We ensure that communities across North America have access to the finest of the performing arts in the world. Our services and membership has expanded over the decades as we facilitate an interconnected environment.

Our Partners

Our mission of better business is strengthened by partnerships with other service organizations in the field, universities, arts foundations, non-profits, corporations and public organizations. In collaboration with our partners, we support a pipeline of future and new arts professionals through Performing Arts Connect and New Colleagues sessions, offer discounts to our members, advocate for the needs and contributions of agents and managers, and share knowledge.

OUR HISTORY

NAPAMA is what it is today because of all those that have come before us.

The organization was founded in 1979 by a group of managers to create a space for knowledge-sharing and communication amongst managers and agents. Through networking, the creation of a code of conduct, and mentorship, NAPAMA has become the voice of managers and agents working with organizations representing the interests of performing arts presenters, thus laying the groundwork for the more cooperative and interconnected industry we have today.

Since its beginning, NAPAMA has worked to dismantle exclusion through bridge-building, mentorship, and advocacy.

Performing arts agents and managers, along with self-represented artists, ensure that communities across North America have access to the finest in the performing arts in the world. The performing arts industry has changed greatly in the decades since 1979, but the need for a collective voice and for cooperation continues to be critical across all of this diverse field. NAPAMA continues to grow and evolve to not only meet the current needs of our membership and field at large, but also to shape its future.
