Robert Baird Elected NAPAMA President;
New Board Slate Approved
New York, NY - At its January meeting in New York City, the new NAPAMA Board slate was approved and Robert Baird was elected NAPAMA President. NAPAMA, the association for North American Performing Arts Managers and Agents, represents the interests of managers, agents, presenters and artists in the performing arts field with a consistent presence at major international, national, regional, state and provincial performing arts conferences.
Robert Baird has served on the Executive Committee of the NAPAMA Board for the past three years as Vice-President, Chair of the Showcase Task Force and APAP Liaison. "I am honored to become President of NAPAMA and I am determined to focus on increasing our membership, providing more and better service to our members, continuing to represent NAPAMA interests to other arts organizations and communicating regularly to our membership," notes Mr. Baird. Robert also serves on the Board of Festivals and Events Ontario as Membership Chair, is Tour Coordinator for the IPAY Dutch Consortium and is co-chair of the 2011 Midwest Arts Conference to be held in September in Minneapolis.
In addition to Mr. Baird's election as president, the membership said goodbye to outgoing President, Eleanor Oldham of 2Luck Concepts, Vice President, Tim Drake with The Roots Agency, and Board member Christine Tschida with Shagan Arts. Starting the first year of a three-year term, the NAPAMA Board welcomes Stephen Barefoot of goingbarefoot, inc., Jeff Laramie of SRO Artists and Jerry Ross of Harmony Artists. This is the first time that Mr. Barefoot and Mr. Ross have been involved with the organization's Board. Mr. Laramie represents an historical perspective as he served on the NAPAMA Board during the organization's infancy.
Expressing his delight in the election of the new Board members, incoming President Robert Baird said, "This is a great group of arts professionals representing all facets of our community. I look forward to working with my colleagues as we look to the future of NAPAMA."

The table at which we sit - presenters and agents - is a round table. We are partners. It is not "US against THEM." We are all partners in this incredible adventure of creating community through the events and experience of the performance.
